Ruth - Introduction

I am from Dubuque, Iowa and I am organizing this blog. (I grew up and often visit upstate NY) Along with organizing this blog I also co-chair a conference apostolate (www.springtimeofhope.org).   I have participated in several faith related book blogs.  I am really excited about this blog study and look forward to sharing our faith through blogging.

Please briefly introduce yourself when you join the blog.

Ruth - Ash Wednesday - Blog begins

I will be working on getting the blog invitations sent out this week.  To join this blog, if you have not already done so, please send me an email with your name and email address or post a comment here with that information and this week you will receive an official invition to be a member/author on this blog.  Don't sign up as a "friend" of the blog but as an author or member of the blog so that you can post.

Contact me if you have ANY trouble getting "connected."  We want everyone to enjoy this blogging experience and to grow in their love for Jesus through Mary.

The book blog will probably extend beyond Lent but should enrich our Lenten journey.

Once you are a blog member you can start posting but please don't post ahead of the group.  You can always write your blog when you do your readings, save it as a draft and then post it when we get to that part of the book.  I say this because some people like to read ahead.

So buy your book, read the introduction before Ash Wednesday, say your daily rosary and please pray for all who particiapte in the blog.

General Information on this book blog

This new book blog on "The Echo of God" will help us continue our journey of True Devotion to Jesus through Mary.
The book is a commentary for beginners on St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort's True Devotion to Mary authored by Fr. Lance Harlow.

The book is divided into sections ranging from 2 to 10 pages per day.  At the end of each section you will find application questions.  If you choose to participate we will ask that you post on the questions of your choice daily or as often as you feel led to do so.  You can read and post answers, questions and comments at your own pace.
The entire purpose of the blog is to help each of us to grow in our love for Jesus and His and our mother, Mary.

St. Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort's Treatise on the True Devotion to the Holy Virgin has influenced innumerable Christians since its discovery in 1842. These include Mr. Frank Duff, the founder of the Legion of Mary; Blessed (Mother) Teresa of Calcutta, and his Holiness Pope John Paul II; not to mention the thousands of priests, religious and laity who live their consecration to Jesus through Mary. The Echo of God is a most valuable study guide for understanding and living the lifestyle of true devotion with its simple explanation and application of Grignion de Montfort's inspired principles of Marian spirituality--which is always Christocentric! This book contains the full text of True Devotion complete with commentary, Scripture references and application questions. it is ideal for individual or prayer group study.......

The Echo of God is a work which is long overdue and will assist any reader who finds difficulty in appropriating Montfort's sublime teaching on the role of Mary in the formation of saints for the latter times.
